He reconnects with his origins and recovers his nickname of "Fun Cruiser". The very first version appeared as a 4-door SUV before giving way to the second generation which was available as a 5-door. As for the third generation, it did not break ties with excellence and presented itself for the first time with a V6 engine with a displacement of 3.5 liters, while the fourth was distinguished by an extension of the space interior and a 2.05 gasoline engine with 151 horsepower.

Driving assistance
The blind spot warning is activated as soon as a vehicle enters the driver's blind spot. A warning light then appears in the driver's side mirror, to warn him and secure his overtaking. When stationary, if the system identifies a risk of collision with a vehicle/cyclist when the door is opened, the warning light is also activated.
Parking assistance
The RAV4 has front and rear parking sensors. The collision avoidance function activates braking if a risk of collision with a static object is identified.
